Having grown up in Albury/Wodonga Ashleigh has a strong connection with and fondness for the local area. She has always loved food, cooking and the important roles it plays in our lives. After giving graphic design a try at university, she realised it wasn’t her passion like food was. With a desire to stay as local as possible, she studied her Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition & Dietetics)(Hons.) at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga. Her honours research explored the impact of mindfulness on the eating behaviours and clinical outcomes in a rural chronic disease management program. Ashleigh loves getting to know people and helping them to develop their knowledge and skills around food.
Stemming from her honours research, Ashleigh has gone on to begin additional postgraduate training in the Non-Diet Approach, an approach on healthy at every size and reconnecting with our bodies.
Outside of her work role, Ashleigh still loves food and sharing it with her family and friends. She loves getting around the North East to visit wineries, berry farms, hedge mazes and other fun little adventures.
